A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna

Read this if you… want a cozy, heartwarming love story with magic and charm.

Why does this beguile? After the delightful novel, The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, I was eager to read A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping. Mandanna has heart and her writing is fun, witty, and punchy. Our main character, Sera, is grumpy but charming and the cast of supporting characters had me laughing out loud throughout the book.

What it's about: Sera Swan was meant to be the most powerful witch - even more powerful than the Guild’s leader. When her aunt dropped dead unexpectedly, Sera cast a powerful resurrection spell that drained her of nearly all her power. Cast out from the Witch Guild, Sera spends her time running a magical inn (Batty Hole) with her aunt and the guests who became permanent residents. When former golden boy, Luke, finds his way to the inn, he gets involved with helping Sera get her magic back.
