Book Recommendations & Reviews - November 2021

October came and went so quickly! We decorated our yard for Halloween and thoroughly enjoyed the holiday in our new neighborhood. It’s also Autumn-planting season, so I spent a good chunk of time researching native plants, selecting what to plant, and getting them in the ground this month before winter. We continue to work on our lovely home (added doors for my office! got quotes for built-ins!) and now, we’re looking at the upcoming Thanksgiving and Yuletime holidays!

Here’s what I read this past month:

  • Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle - Amelia Nagoski, Emily Nagoski

  • The Culture Code: The Secrets of Highly Successful Groups - Daniel Coyle

  • The Once and Future Witches - Alix E. Harrow

  • Bet on Yourself: Recognize, Own, and Implement Breakthrough Opportunities - Ann Hiatt

  • Forgetting: The Benefits of Not Remembering - Scott Small

  • Finding LatinX: In Search of the Voices Redefining Latino Identity - Paola Ramos

  • The Storyteller: Tales of Life and Music - Dave Grohl

  • How to be Sad: Everything I've Learned About Getting Happier by Being Sad - Helen Russell

  • Zero to One - Peter Thiel

  • Maybe You Should Talk to Someone - Lori Gottlieb

I’m sure the winter months will be full of more home projects and holiday prep. Here’s what I’m looking forward to reading next.

  • Shadow & Bone - Leigh Bardugo

  • The Song of Achilles - Madeline Miller

  • The Night Circus - Erin Morgenstern

  • Terciel & Elinor - Garth Nix

  • A Good Soul - Tricia O’Malley
