Book Recommendations & Reviews - October 2021

September was a month filled with breaks in our routine. We got new phones. I took a vacation from work. We binged a lot of Love Island Australia. We did quite a few house projects. All that to say, I wasn’t super focused on reading this month. Even six months into our new home, we’re still unpacking, organizing, and settling into the new space. The house is decorated for Halloween and I hope to read more as the daylight wanes and temperatures cool.

Here’s what I read this past month:

  • A Conjuring of Light - V.E. Schwab

  • Courage is Calling: Fortune Favors the Brave - Ryan Holiday

  • Powershift: Transform Any Situation, Close Any Deal, and Achieve Any Outcome- Daymond John

  • The Death of Expertise: The Campaign against Established Knowledge and Why it Matters - Tom Nichols

  • Vampires, Scones, and Edmund Herondale - Cassandra Clare

  • A Gathering of Shadows - V. E. Schwab

  • The Runaway Queen - Cassandra Clare

  • The Practice of Groundedness: A Transformative Path to Success That Feeds--Not Crushes--Your Soul - Brad Stulberg

  • A Darker Shade of Magic - V.E. Schwab

  • You're Not Listening: What Your Missing and Why It Matters - Kate Murphy

  • Self-Care for Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents: Honor Your Emotions, Nurture Your Self, and Live with Confidence - Lindsay Gibson

  • What Really Happened in Peru - Cassandra Clare

  • Between the Stops: The View of My Life from the Top of the Number 12 Bus - Sandi Toksvig

  • City of Heavenly Fire - Cassandra Clare

  • The 48 Laws of Power - Robert Greene

I’m looking forward to reading the following next.
