Favorite Quote: In my opinion, the revolution went too far. Something needed to change—don’t get me wrong. No one should cower beneath their government’s boots. But the Republic has become what it meant to correct: a nation ruled by fear.
Story Synopsis: Rune Winters, after fleeing her home to save her life, finds herself in a terrible predicament: marry a brutish prince or be killed at the hands of an evil and ruthless witch. When Gideon comes to her new home to assassinate her, they end up embroiled in a convoluted charade of prey-predator, with neither really knowing which part they are playing as they both work toward the same goal, but in very different ways.
Why does this book beguile? I love, love, love, love this book as much as the first one - and that is a true feat! Much like Heartless Hunter, Rebel Witch is fast-paced, exciting, and keeps the tension building. It’s hard to share much of this book without spoilers. That said, it’s an well-done novel and I appreciate Ciccarelli for not dragging this out into three (or more) books unnecessarily. A triumph to be sure.
