Favorite Quote: The arrogance of men never ceases to amaze me. You all think everything has to do with you, and every woman has to desire you.
Story Synopsis: Rand ventures off on his own, leaving Perrin with Morraine and Lan. They follow his trail through towns as Rand’s ta’veren powers touch everyone he encounters.
Meanwhile, Mat finds himself in Tar Valon and tries to escape the city, though the Amrylin Seat blocks his path. Egwene, Nynaeve, and Elayne end up on a secret mission for the Amrylin Seat and try to suss out who might be Black Ajah.
Why does this book beguile? As sequels progress, it becomes more difficult to write spoiler-free reviews. Wheel of Time becomes more complex, with threads weaving the pattern more intricately than I expected. I’m enjoying the series immensely, but will likely do a big review of the series when I finish the remaining eleven books.
Regarding the Wheel of Time screen adaptation for Amazon Prime, so far, the show surpasses the books for me. I appreciate how much has been condensed for the show without losing the importance of the events. The production value of the show is so high, that I feel the audience doesn’t miss all the detail and description Jordan put into the books.
