Book Recommendations and Reviews - December 2021

Hard to believe it’s December of 2021 and a new year begins soon. While much of the USA appears to be “back to normal” following the pandemic, we’ve remained “Covid-Conservative” and we have stayed hunkered down. Now, with a new variant of concern (Hi, Omicron), I’ll be reading more and knitting more as we continue to maintain a bubble. Here’s to many more books!

Here’s what I read this past month:

  • Onboarding Matters: How Successful Companies Transform New Customers Into Loyal Champions - Donna Weber

  • Yule - Llewellyn

  • Crystal Wisdom: Unearthing the Power of Gemstones for Positive Life Change - Shannon Marie

  • Words that Work: It's Not What You Say, It's What People Hear - Frank Luntz

  • Fairies: The Myths, The Legends, The Lore - Skye Alexander

  • Think Again: The Power of Knowing What You Don't Know - Adam Grant

  • The Psychology of Weather - Trevor Harley

  • A Good Soul - Tricia O'Malley

  • Psychic Witch: A Metaphysical Guide to Meditation, Magick & Manifestation - Mat Auryn

  • The Song of Achilles - Madeline Miller

  • Demand Side Sales 101: Stop Selling and Help Your Customers Make Progress - Bob Moesta

As we prep for the end of the year, I’ve been researching fairy lore and legends and watching shows like The Witcher and The Wheel of Time and rewatching The Lord of the Rings. It’s amazing to read all types of myths and tales from history to see how they show up in today’s pop culture! Here’s what I’m looking forward to reading next.

Fiction

  • Shadow & Bone - Leigh Bardugo

  • The Night Circus - Erin Morgenstern

  • Terciel & Elinor - Garth Nix

  • Hopefully something by V.E. Schwab, Cassandra Clare

Non-Fiction

  • 21 Lessons for the 21st Century - Yuval Noah Harari

  • Men Explain Things To Me - Rebecca Solnit
