Story Synopsis: Aelin freed magic and liberated Rifthold from a demon-possessed ruler. Now, she travels to her home of Terrasen to reclaim her rightful home and throne. When the Lords of Terrasen band together to keep Aelin from rising to Queen, Aelin is forced to pivot. Taunted by not having an army beyond her court, Aelin ventures back to Skull’s Bay to call Pirate Lord Rolfe and his fleet to her cause. From there, Aelin starts a chain of events to find out how to banish Erawan, rid the world of the Wyrdkeys, and ensure her people thrive. But with each event, choices must be made - and each choice has irrevocable consequences as traps are laid and sides are chosen.
Why does this book beguile? By the time you’ve reached Book 5 in any series, you’re committed. Empire of Storms does not disappoint. After having many separate storylines, many characters converge with Aelin in this story - only to be ripped apart again by the end. This book is full of hope and heartbreak and I cannot wait to finish this series.
