Spoilers ahead for Previous Books in Throne of Glass!
Story Synopsis: Aelin has been kept captive and tortured by Maeve for months while Rowan looks for her. Meanwhile, Chaol and Yrene move north with the armies from the southern continent, and Dorian and Manon seek the Crochan witches to aid them against Erawan and Morath. When Aelin finally frees herself and gets back to Rowan, they begin their final quest to Orynth and make their stand to protect Terrrasen and defeat the dark forces at their doorstep.
Why does this book/series beguile? This is the eighth and final book of the Throne of Glass series! What a ride. I enjoyed this story and how it wrapped everything up. The ending was done well, and there was more than one happy ending for our characters.
I will say that having read all the books in succession, I do feel that Tower of Dawn could have been paired down significantly and moved into Kingdom of Ash. In addition, this book could have been paired down as well. There was a lot of the same thing from different points of view. As an example, in one battle, you may have read two to four different characters’ perspectives, but I didn’t think this added to the narrative at all.
I definitely recommend it and think it’s very important to read this, ACOTAR, and Crescent City before House of Flame and Shadow drops in January 2024!
