Favorite Quote: It takes a whole lot longer to dispose of a body than to dispose of a soul, especially if you don’t want to leave any evidence of foul play.

Story Synopsis: We first meet Korede as she works to remove any trace of blood from her sister, Ayoola’s, latest victim. This is not Korede’s first time helping Ayoola out of a tight spot. As life returns to normal following Ayoola’s third kill, Korede becomes even more involved when Ayoola begins dating Korede’s hospital crush, Tade. To help maintain her sanity, Korede speaks with a patient in a coma as a form of therapy. What happens next is quite a twist in the story!

Why does this book beguile? I love how this book was written. First of all, short chapters! It was fast-paced, with enough detail for your imagination but not too much detail to bore you. Secondly, it had a fabulous twist! It wasn’t a clutch-your-pearls type of twist, but a subtle, more haunting twist that still has me thinking about this book.

Thanks to The StoryGraph for their 2023 Reads the World Challenge. Otherwise, I may never have found this book!
