A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers

A Psalm for the Wild-Built is not a book I would have found on my own. Before the monthly book club competition, my friend, Noah, recommended this book. It sat on my Kindle for a while, and I decided to check it out on a whim.

It’s a beautiful, heartfelt book. It’s short – more like a novella, making for a great read between lengthy books.

Things I loved:

  • Well-written

  • Non-binary protagonist using they/them pronouns

  • Human-robot friendship

  • Detailed world-building

  • Full of kindness, love, and hope

Since it is a short book, it’s hard to recap without giving too much away!.

A Psalm for the Wild-Built is the first book of two, but it can be read as a standalone. I ended the book feeling warm, happy, and hopeful. Five Stars!
