Story Synopsis: After stepping into her true identity, Silla is gathering support of the people of Iseldur. Reynir Galtung, her former nemesis, also stands by her side and helps her gain the support of the jarls of the region to dethrone King Ivar. However, Silla deals with an internal turmoil: a shard of the god, Mykur, lives within her, desperate to use Silla’s body as vessel for his plans.

Why does this book beguile? I was super excited to get this as an ARC, but did not realize the book, Kingdom of Claw, was the second! Dawn of the North was much more exciting than Kingdom of Claw, however, I suspect it’s not the last in the series. The only issue with this story are all the separate pieces: Silla, Saga, & other characters all lend their arcs to the plot, so it’s a lot to keep up with!
