Favorite Quote: But I think body shape and size is all about athletics — what you can do with your body. How you use it in the world to live and function better and more intentionally every day.

Synopsis: After the success of Michael Easter’s first book, The Comfort Crisis, hundreds of thousands of people became ruck-curious. In response, Easter wrote Walk with Weight, which is a definitive guide to rucking. Everything you could want to know about getting started with rucking is in this helpful guide. Throughout the book, Easter reminds readers what rucking is, the benefits of rucking, and expands on how to ruck. He includes guides on how to pack rucks, how to calculate how much weight you should use in your ruck, and how to practice rucking safely. At the end, there are some really awesome historical notes of societies that ruck, plus ruck workouts that you can do regardless of how much time you have.

Why does this book beguile? I’m a big Michael Easter fan. Both The Comfort Crisis and Scarcity Brain are some of my favorite, most-helpful books; and some of my most recommended. Because of this, Walk with Weight did not personally teach me anything new. However, I would strongly recommend this book for anyone interested in easy, low-barrier ways of getting way more fit.
