Story Synopsis: Our Crooked Hearts tells the story of Ivy Chase, her mother Dana, and the magic they’ve come to possess. Ivy’s seventeen-year-old summer gets turned upside when one drunken night puts her in the path of supernatural forces her mother attempted to bury twenty years prior. This book weaves multiple points of view with past and present to create an intriguing tale of family, power, and self.

Thoughts & Feelings: I’d heard many great things about Our Crooked Hearts since its publish date. It had a four-month wait at the library, so I was eager to read once I got it. I liked it, but not loved it. I enjoyed the prose, but the book was written like a mystery or attempted thriller and fell flat. It compelled me, but the ending left me unsatisfied.
