Favorite Quote: Nothing is stronger than a small hope that doesn’t give up.

Synopsis: Matt Haig is very open with his mental health journey and wants others to find comfort and solace knowing they are not alone. It’s sweet, and hopeful, and a powerful reminder of separating the mind from the body and trying to identify what’s real. So often in times of stress, trauma, or depression, our minds trick us into believing falsehoods and finds patterns to use as “evidence.” Matt Haig beautifully explains how feelings are real, but what our mind tells us about those feelings is so regularly false.

Why does this book beguile? I put off reading this book for years for no reason. I loved Haig’s other book The Midnight Library and finally got around to reading The Comfort Book. The Comfort Book is a reminder-book of sorts to help readers get through tough times, low points, and even rock bottom. It’s a sweet book and would make a great gift.
