2022 Best Books and Reading Wrap Up
The wheel of time keeps turning and 2022 is behind us. I found myself super busy at work and throughout the craziness of startup life, reading helped me stay balanced. Leading up to this post, I imported all my Goodreads data to The Storygraph because their data tracking is much better. Let’s see how 2022 went!
When I began 2022, my goal was to read more fiction - at least 50% - and I’m happy to say I succeeded!
With my Page One Books subscription, I read more physical books this year than previously. I’m excited to say I have 18 months left on my subscription!
After receiving Ninth House in my Page One monthly box, I went on a Leigh Bardugo kick and read pretty much everything she’s written, and excited for Hell Bent coming out in a couple of weeks.
I read fewer books but almost the same number of pages, which means I’m reading bigger books!
Best Books of 2022
With all those books, you’re probably wondering which ones are the best. I did get a bit tougher with my ratings in 2022 and The Storygraph lets you rate in quarters too (4.25/4.5/4.75 etc.).
Here are my favorite books from 2022.
Best Standalone Novels
Best Series
The Atlas Six & The Atlas Paradox by Olivie Blake
The Grishaverse by Leigh Bardugo
Crescent City Series by Sarah J. Maas
Best Non-Fiction
Going into 2023, I plan to read another 100 books, with at least 75% fiction. I’m also setting myself a goal to read all J. R. R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth books. That’s going to be quite an undertaking!
